fistThe revolution will not be televised. The revolution is here.  The blog is here.  How hard you hustle is directly proportionate to the quality of life that you live, this you know.  The New Hustle is no different than the old hustle - but like everything else – it must adapt to the ever more mobile and progressive domain.  Think Twitter, think Google, Facebook or the ingenious million dollar homepage.  Whether you grind the eight to five, have your PhD or work three jobs to make a living – you’re never content.  This is called human ambition.  Note that the most successful people in the world are always looking for ways to become more efficient, more productive and live the fullest life possible.

This is entrepreneurship, perseverance and creativity.  These tools, which are completely non-discriminatory, are a necessity for the coming generation in these difficult economic times.  When job security is more of a moniker than a safety net.  When your student loan payments make you wish you had never graduated in the first place.  When one job isn’t enough, and ‘additional sources of income’ are not reserved for the zealous workaholics – but required to make ends meet.

For the millennial generation, (aka Generation Y), the “hustle” has changed.  No longer simply referencing the illicit/illegal self-employed street game – everyone and anyone is required to hustle to get to what they want in life.  With the digital revolution (1 billion Internet users and counting) the new hustle has come to reference pride in work ethic; the ceaseless ‘grind’ required to live the kind of lifestyle we witness others living who have the tenacity and wherewithal to never stop pressing forward – day after day.

This generation is as progressive as they are impatient, as resourceful as they are lazy and as tolerant as they are sensitive. The New Hustle was founded to help maintain our best game 24/7 to get the most out of ourselves – to push past fears of failure, procrastination, laziness and the notorious ‘instant gratification’ mindset that limits our mind’s boundless potential.  This is nothing new, philosopher’s have been at it for centuries, don’t take my word for it.

The truth is the majority of people live life on auto-pilot, going about their day to day because – well, someone has to pay the bills.  Life has so much more substance to it – and deep down I believe if you’re human you know this.  Came across a passage that the world as we know it today was built by people who were not content with the way things were.  Think Martin Luther King Jr., Gandhi, Mandela or Churchill.  The life you want to live and the positive difference you can make in this world entirely depends on the realizing of your full potential – who wants to settle for mediocrity?  As the saying goes:

“it’s not who you think you are that holds you back but who you think you’re not.”

Today – decide once and for all – that you have within the ability to change the negative course your life has become – or continue the positive course you are on – hustling harder than you ever have before.  Stop being the victim to circumstance and start being the circumstance of change.  No matter what you think of yourself now, decide that what you do with the rest of your day today  - and for the rest of your days to come – will determine the gratification of a life fully lived when all is said and done.  Word to the wise: it’s not easy.  Welcome to The New Hustle.
