consistencyDay and night. Good and evil. You can’t understand wealth without understanding poverty. You can’t know happiness without experiencing sadness.

The contradictory nature of life is necessary.  Without it, success wouldn’t taste so sweet.  The key is deciding which end of the spectrum you’d rather live in – and we all have that control.

But there’s a reason that everybody is not successful.  It’s just not that easy. Read another great article by Robin Sharma recently about the ’swam effect’.

“The best amongst us make it all look so easy. I call it The Swan Effect- elite performers make personal excellence look effortless and seem to make things happen as gracefully as a swan moves along the water. But like the swan, what you don’t get to see is all the hard-work taking place below the surface.” -Robin Sharma

Athletes, musicians and artists that are famous all have one thing in common. The show that they put on stage is the result of years of blood, sweat and tears to get to their respective levels of greatness. What happens when you have God-given abilities with a tenacity to consistently improve and put in the work (or practice) to ensure you stay ahead of the game? Michael Jordan happens, true greatness happens.

The thing is anybody can become great in whatever it is that they do – with the right mindset (aka if they want it bad enough).

So what’s the key to success

One word, many actions – consistency.

The secret formula

Consistency = awareness + action.  Your life today is a direct result of the thousands of actions you have performed in the days, months and years leading up to to this very specific point in time.  Nobody else is to blame, ultimately.  If your actions don’t represent where you want to be in life, you need to become more aware of how your day-to-day is defining your tomorrow and decide to take action to improve your life.

It’s not easy maintaining consistency

“Success, world-class health, internal fulfillment and sustained happiness don’t just happen. These elements of your best life are created.” -Robin Sharma

We can’t expect success and fulfillment to just come to us. We create them. We alone are the authors – and how hard we work – how hard we hustle – will determine how far we get.

It’s not easy. It means playing your best game even when you might not feel like it. It means no matter what, you’re locked in to your destination and nothing will deter you from that.

Raise your awareness levels to spur you to positive action. Execute the actions daily, consistently – and you’ll see dramatic improvement within 30 days, guaranteed.
